So I am trying to post a daily projections page with my personal picks for the day and completely botched my attempt to post them to this site.
Richard typically handles all the technical stuff and I simply write for the website, so it was new to me and that’s my bad.
I went to delete my post just to notice that my “FanDuel Scam” article has a lot of comments that I was unaware of since I don’t go back and reread all of my articles as often as I guess I should.
So going through the article I was reading a lot of comments like “FanDuel has bots that enter the contests…etc.”
I also read comments like “FanDuel hires these sharks to enter lineups for them, how else would these guys know to play these guys at $3500”.
But my favorite comment that really sums up how I really feel about the bitter fans of FanDuel was “FanDuel is rigged because I lose a lot and I know my basketball”.
Read that one more time!
People lose and therefore it’s FanDuel and not them.
How laughable is that!
First of all, I do not believe there are “bots” entering the contests considering how FD really makes you “say who you say you are” and that requires entering a SSN.
The bottom line is no one plays fantasy thinking they are going to lose.
That’s why millions of people play on these sites because everyone thinks they are smarter than everyone else.
Having a bigger bankroll is a huge advantage in these massive tournaments and considering how top heavy they are, I don’t really play them that much because my ROI odds aren’t that great.
Hence this is why I write articles about how to manage your game selection.
People play, then lose, and of naturally it isn’t their fault because they are special.
I invest about 20-30 hours a week looking at that statistics to find an edge.
Most people think being a pro requires waking up at noon and cracking open a beer while you watch SportsCenter on repeat for a few hours.
Then when you lose, your mind is blown and it’s conspiracy time.
Why would FD put bots in and risk losing their billion dollar industry when they win every time by collecting a rake?
I truly believed one small site (if that site is still around) did enter in-house lineups because they are smaller and would lose otherwise due to the overlay.
So it makes sense (while it’s incredibly illegal) for that site (which I just checked and is no longer up) to enter the lineups in-house since otherwise they would lose the money if they did nothing.
Sites like that should be taken down and those guys should be charged with fraud.
But they are so small and their GPP’s only hold like 200 people. Their cash games didn’t fill, but 30% of the field joined last minute and they never once had overlay which is not impossible, but highly improbable.
So instead of leaving 30% overlay they enter teams in house and keep what they win.
FanDuel has way too much to lose to do this.
FanDuel is so big there is just no way they do this! People need to stop looking for excuses to why they lose.
There are plenty of people who play DFS for a living and they spend more time than most normal players.
Considering this IS THEIR JOB, they will know if a player is out and play the back up getting starter minutes in the NBA.
I will never play NBA if I can’t sit by a computer right before lineups lock because I adapt to this information as well because I’m a serious player who relies on the income.
The biggest problem these skeptics have is they think they are smarter than everyone else and refuse to believe otherwise.
They think they are special and not like everyone else probably because they were raised this way and that’s what their parents told them when they were growing up.
Just like everyone thinks they have the cutest kids and dogs and their Facebook time line is filled with pictures of them.
The truth is, everyone else doesn’t want to see pictures of your kid or dog everyday!
We get it, you think your kid is cute.
Considering this is a game of odds and calculations, odds are the people who do well put in their due diligence and work to get where they are.
The whole point of the “FanDuel Scam” article was to talk about how people were getting fooled by their marketing which is completely legal.
Then people start flooding the comment section with how FanDuel isn’t safe because they lost money.
Just like anything in life, if you really want to be good you need to work at it.
Sorry if I offended you dropping that dreadful word “work” on you. But that is the only way you will be good at fantasy sports and make money.
If you aren’t putting in the work and aren’t seeing the results, it’s you!
You aren’t special and you aren’t going to be able to take five minutes a day to make millions.
Just like poker used the Chris Moneymaker story to create the poker boom, FanDuel (and DraftKings for that matter) will do the same because it’s a business model.
This country is lazy and wants everything handed to them and when they see that a guy deposited 35 bucks and turned it into two million dollars, they want that.
When it doesn’t happen something is wrong.
It isn’t the sites fault because one LUCKY guy was able to do that and you weren’t.
But you’re special, so it has to be them right?
FanDuel and DraftKings are legit sites and businesses and that’s why they get big time investors like Google and Time Warner.
I’m pretty sure those companies did their research before handing these sites millions of dollars to invest and came to the conclusion that they are legit.
The other reason these sites are popular is because they are fun!
People often forget about that!
It gives you a reason to watch games that you would otherwise not watch and it gives you a reason to cheer players that aren’t on your favorite team.
So all the people saying that this business is a fraud are self entitled people who think they should have everything handed to them for no reason at all.
That’s too bad you feel that way.
Go back to your other conspiracies and keep blaming others for why your life sucks, but leave my industry alone!
