Why Football Season Increases Your Odds of Winning in Other Daily Fantasy Sports Such As NBA or MLB
The NFL is King!
You know it, I know it, everyone knows it!
But here is one thing you may not know if you are a newer DFS player.
Now is the time to play daily fantasy NBA because this is when you have the best odds of winning.
I play MLB/NFL/NBA year-round and I always hit the MLB and NBA as hard as I can when the NFL season is going on.
Why Would I Say This?
The reason is very simple; more novice players will be playing the other sports during the football season because that’s the main reason they play DFS.
Once Football season is over, a lot of people won’t log into their DFS accounts till next season and are completely fine with that.
But a lot of people will win some money on Sunday, and feel the need to try something else out in-between Sundays.
If you want proof that what I’m saying is true, look at the sizes of the games during and after football season.
You will notice that once football season is over, the double ups for all the sites gradually get smaller and smaller.
The reason for this is less and less people are playing.
Those Who Play Year-Round Usually Know Their Stuff
When less people are playing, it becomes harder to win because the people who are still around playing are hardcore DFS players and know their stuff.
The percentage of sharps or sharks make up a larger percentage of the field.
They aren’t going anywhere and there is nothing wrong with that, but the people we want to play will be nowhere to be found.
One of the biggest advantages veteran NBA fantasy players have is understanding how to adapt to news.
I know for me; I wake up and look at lines and matchups with my coffee every morning.
I make that “first look team” and enter my contests early in the morning.
Then I won’t even look at stuff until about two to one hours before tip-off.
I feel anything else is just a waste of time because it all can change within ten minutes before lock.
If I can’t be by my computer when games start, I’m not playing that day.
But when the news that so and so is getting rested and a backup will be starting ten minutes before the game starts, I’m pretty excited.
When a player should be 100% owned and is somewhere around 50%, I assume half of the people that didn’t take the value of the day are people who made their lineup an hour ago and never looked back.
Basketball is the only fantasy sport where you can’t do that and that’s why so many pros say it’s their most profitable sport.
Take Advantage of the Casual Players During Football Season
But you can’t make money if someone isn’t willing to lose money.
Think of it like hibernation with bears out in the wild.
Right before they go into hibernation what do they always do?
They eat all the fish they can handle because they know they will be out for a while.
Same thing applies to DFS, you need to hit the rivers and eat as much as you can, because once football season is over, the fish will be gone for a while.
