The player prop gravy train is rolling and all you hard core DFS players need to jump on!
I’ve mention player prop bets before but it’s been a long time and I thought I’d share some basic information with you all.
DFS basketball is getting harder and harder to win thanks to all the old school sharks becoming touts instead, and selling their information and algorithms for a price.
If you are unaware of what a player prop bet is, it’s lines these online sports books make on a players performance.
They will often vary but the majority of them are point totals, points and rebounds totals, assist and rebound totals, and points rebounds and assist totals.
While this is a decent tool for fantasy purposes, it is also a great way for DFS players to make a little extra cash!
About the Wagering Sites
First things first, you can’t deposit and withdraw with Paypal.
I actually get my checks faster from Bovada than I do some DFS sites that are out there.
They ship them Fedex and you can get them as fast as two days from the time your withdrawal is approved.
BetOnline takes a little longer, but you will still get your check in a week or two. Still not bad.
While both sites are offshore, they are legal and a lot of people get the online gambling rules mixed up.
It’s actually illegal to host the site in the states, but not to play on them and there has never been a case of someone being arrested for playing.
But if you want to be the bookie, you could face legal consequences.
Why DFS Gives us an Advantage
If you are a seasoned vet of DFS basketball, you know things get crazy when there are late scratches.
Instead of changing lineups, you can take advantage of these sites!
Just recently, I had Kawi Leonard as a good player bet to go over 21 points against the Kings, then news broke.
The Spurs were benching Aldrige and Duncan. This up’s Leonard’s usage and I loved that bet even more.
Since I was working on lineups anyways, I got this news via twitter seconds after the announcement and I instantly went to Bovada and increased my bet amount.
Then minutes later Bovada took the bet down. (he scored 27 points by the way).
Similarities Between DFS and Prop Bets
You are already targeting the same factors with DFS that you want to with your player prop bets so why not take some action on the bets.
You are targeting teams with high over/unders and with close spreads.
Just like in DFS, you don’t want to target games with blow out potential because you don’t want your player to sit the 4th quarter.
But you are also exposing matchups where players are in fast games (high pace of play) and are going against teams that struggle to guard the position.
I like to use FantasyLabs projections and player ratings as tools for my player prop bets more than I do for playing fantasy.
In conclusion, the two go hand in hand, and if there is enough interest and you sign up to Bovada or BetOnline through our links, shoot us an email and I’ll be more than happy to personally give you my picks.
