Whenever I am around a group of people and they find out that I play fantasy sports professionally, there are a lot of follow up questions.
But one of the main questions that is always asked is “so what fantasy site is the best one to play on?”
I’ve been thinking about it and it’s actually a pretty simple answer, I think it’s DraftKings!
Their Edge Over Other Sites
The edge that DraftKings has over any other site is they have more to offer people. I’m not only talking about the different types of contests they have, but also the sports that they offer.
I don’t know any other site that offers as many NASCAR and massive PGA Tournaments. They even have MMA and Soccer!
So it doesn’t matter what kind of sport you are into, odds are DraftKings has fantasy contests for them and pretty big ones too.
More Bang for Your Buck
The other reason I tell new players to go to DraftKings is because the really do offer more bang for your buck than other sites.
They have games that cost as little as a quarter and you can actually win some decent prizes with money that you can find lying around the house.
I always tell people who are new that the quarter games can often have a lot of overlay because a lot of people over look them, and you can win some tickets that are valued at $27.
I tell them about my friend who grinds the quarter games and collects as many tickets as he can then plays them all in one night.
He turned those tickets into $500 and barely risked any money at all! That always seems to get someone’s attention and perks their interest to give DraftKings a shot.
The Absolute Biggest Tournaments
Now DraftKings isn’t dumb and they know that if they want to draw the interest of the general public, they need to advertise these huge tournaments that pay a million dollars or more to the winners.
But truth be told, those aren’t the games that are going to make most people money.
In order to pay such large payouts, they really make the tournament top heavy with the prizes (meaning that payouts drop dramatically after first place).
But DraftKings has some decent leagues that hold 250 people and have great payouts, and I always tell newer players to put a little more emphasis on those types of games if they don’t want to just play cash game types.
The other main reason that I try to get new players to go to DraftKings is because they easily have the largest amount of users in the industry.
This really helps when you are new because there are more people to play, and you can avoid playing with sharks every game.
Granted FanDuel also has a large user base but DraftKings actually has a beginner tab.
What Are the Beginner Games?
These games are for new users only so there is no chance you will play the seasoned DFS pro’s, and you can actually get a feel for how things work before you are forced to play with everyone else.
Take advantage of the beginner tab when you sign up!
A lot of people don’t realize what it is and it goes away once you play a certain amount of games and every game counts.
So if you play three beginner games, and four regular games they all count and you’ve played a total of 7 games. So play nothing but beginner games when you start and don’t get to cocky!
You will have plenty of time to play against the pros so enjoy it while it lasts because the cashing scores are actually quite a bit lower in the beginner games than normal!
