Everyone knows that the NFL is by far the most popular league in the world.
Because of this, a lot of new users signed up for DFS sites mainly to play NFL games.
Some people like baseball but feel they are at a major disadvantage because they haven’t been following very closely this year.
Nevertheless, they want to watch the playoffs and are a little unsure if they should try their hand at baseball DFS.
Does This Sound Like You?
Well if this sounds like you I’m going to go ahead and tell you that this is the safest time for you to dabble in DFS baseball!
Even if you just want to see how DFS baseball works because you are considering playing next year, this is the time to get a feel for how things happen!
The Sharks Have Less of An Advantage
I can tell you right now that a lot of the sharks won’t really play heavy volume because there really isn’t an edge to be gained in playoff baseball.
The main reason (and you probably guessed it) is because there are not nearly as many games. So finding the value and what not isn’t that hard which gives the sharks less of an edge.
For example, there may be a player that has great splits and a high wOBA and everything else going for him.
But, there is a good chance you might take him simply because he’s one of your favorite players going that night.
Also, even if you didn’t know he was primed for a great matchup, you may get lucky and just select him anyways because there aren’t that many players to select from at that price point in that position.
The Best Players Will Be Playing!
The other reason playoff baseball is great (ESPECIALLY THE PLAY IN GAMES) is because every batter is facing an ace.
There are only two games with four teams and they all have to win or they go home.
Clubs are going to roll out their best pitcher without a doubt so every hitter is going to face a pitcher that you would normally avoid in the regular season.
But since there really isn’t any way around it you have to take them so it’s okay in these games.
There isn’t much of an edge to play during the playoffs the first couple of games because all the teams will have their aces on the mound, but that doesn’t mean you can find better situations later on in the series.
Obviously there is only one game for the “play in game” and I (like a lot of other sharp fantasy baseball players) will just take the day off and enjoy watching the games.
But once the series begins you can find an edge.
So if you aren’t that familiar with baseball, take a stab during the “play in games” and the first game of the series.
But you may want to leave the other games alone when the lesser pitchers take the mound.
